What's Happening at Holy Rosary
Week 5, Term 2 2022
This Thursday 26th May we celebrate National Sorry Day, the beginning of National Reconciliation Week.
The dates for these events remain the same each year; 27th May to 3rd June. These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey: the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively.
Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures and futures.
We are slowly reaching a conclusion to the COLA project, and we all look forward to the reopening of the drop off area. I have had a number of reports of parents dropping children off in the church driveway near the tennis courts and reversing out. With trucks, cranes and other heavy machinery trying to enter, this is creating a dangerous start to the day. Please do not drop off in this manner.
